OPEN POSITION:

Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Fort Mill, SC

Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site, Hours are 4 -10s Monday – Thursday, Occasional Overtime on Fridays

Industry: Industrial Machinery Manufacturing (Mixers, Presses, Tanks, Engineered Systems, ASME Vessels)

We design and manufacture high-quality, heavy-duty industrial equipment, specializing in custom mixers, presses, and industrial tanks. Our machinery serves critical roles across diverse industries, including Adhesives, Silicones, Chemicals, Paints, etc We pride ourselves on engineering excellence, robust build quality, and a commitment to delivery timelines.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing shop floor. This position would work with our current Plant Manager to learn the role. You will be responsible for streamlining the production of our specialized machinery, optimizing workflow, and leading a skilled team of fabricators, welders, and assemblers. The ideal candidate has deep experience in heavy machinery manufacturing, custom steel fabrication, and manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Scheduling & Execution: Plan, direct, and coordinate the daily manufacturing operations to ensure mixers, presses, and tanks are built to blueprint specifications and delivered on time.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and schedule shop floor personnel (welders, machinists, fitters, and assemblers), fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all finished machinery complies with strict industry safety and quality standards (e.g., ASME standards for pressure vessels/tanks).
  • Process Optimization: Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to minimize waste, reduce bottlenecks, and lower production costs.
  • Inventory & Resource Management: Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to ensure raw materials, components, and tools are available to meet production goals.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA regulations, company safety protocols, and proper equipment maintenance schedules.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years of production management or supervisory experience specifically within industrial machinery manufacturing, heavy steel fabrication, or custom equipment building.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, CAD drawings, and welding symbols. Familiarity with tank fabrication, hydraulic/pneumatic presses, or rotating equipment (mixers) is highly preferred.
  • Leadership: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills with a firm but fair management style.
